Carol Adcock

Senior Designer, Interior Design, Remodeling, Residential & Commercial
Carol, Allied Member American Society of Interior Design (ASID) and Alliance of Interior Designers (AID) earned her BS degree in Interior Design from West Virginia University. Starting her career over 25 years ago in high-end furnishings, it’s no surprise that residential design is where Carol’s primary focus lies. After staying home with children for a while, Carol opened Defining Design, LLC located in Fuquay Varina, NC in 2008.

With a desire to learn and remain current, Carol is also active in two design organizations in the Raleigh area where continuing education in all aspects of interior design is prevalent. The High Point Furniture Market is a must for remaining current on style and upcoming trends, but Carol has also worked out of the Pacific Design Center and the Las Vegas Market, and also attended the Casual Living Show in Chicago. Carol has twice been the featured designer for the Raleigh News & Observer’s ‘Design Master Class,’ and will be featured in the paper’s ‘Meet the Designer’ series.

Of her mission, Carol says, “My goal is to create a space for each client based on their design style preference. It’s about the client. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche said, ’Design is not simply art, it is the elegance of function.’ I like that thought process. I enjoy finding solutions to the challenges with reaching the goal of your definition of design and the ease of function.” Carol enjoys any aspect of good design as they all make an impact. Whether it is new furnishings, lighting, and window treatments or a newly designed kitchen island, reconfigured bath, or organized playroom, is all makes a difference. Of her work, one client says, “Carol is working on our fourth design project within our home. Customer service was great. Carol had great ideas and provided quality products. She was able to pull together designs with our unique taste for traditional, classic, and a little bit of contemporary style. She was able to provide and recommend unique products and material that added character to our home.”

Carol provides design services in the Cary, Apex and South Raleigh, NC area.
