She worked in the graphics design industry for 25 years as a color specialist and imaging technologist and has presented numerous seminars on color theory at trade shows and events across the country. Part of that time, she was a college professor of graphic arts for two colleges in Texas. In association with her graphics background, she began interior design work on commercial projects including offices, conference rooms, media rooms, clinics and developed systems for manufacturing and workflow design.

She and her husband, Mike, also have a long history of home renovation and are experienced in most every aspect of construction and remodeling. These skills are invaluable when assisting clients in kitchen, bath and general home re-construction.

She has developed a highly professional group of subcontractors and associates that assist her in both light and extensive remodeling of all types of properties. She is skilled with 3-D computer software which she uses to assist clients in visualizing construction plans, remodeling ideas and furniture placement.

After working as an interior designer at Village Design Group, Vicki purchased the company in 2007. The Design Center continues to flourish in the community and beyond to include one of the largest and most professional design groups on the East Coast. Vicki continues to focus on commercial and residential design projects and enjoys every opportunity to meet new clients and be creative.

"My passion is truly interior design, remodeling and construction oversight. I love to help my clients visualize and experience the projected end results of the design by using sophisticated architectural software. I have found that this is an invaluable tool to help everyone on the team communicate better and to understand the objectives of the plan. It also saves considerable time and money in that many details can be worked out on the computer screen before construction actually begins."

While many people relate to a single style, she finds that just as many people are influenced by a number of styles. It is there, in the overlap and collision of styles, that personality shines and style reflects the individual. From Modern to Traditional, she thrives in most design styles because designing to her is creating a visual story and giving a voice to clients' interiors by listening to them. She refers to her personal design style as “Timeless Eclectic” which combines Vintage, Industrial, Eclectic and Farmhouse design elements. “I love to mix styles: Modern, Eclectic, Mid-century, Industrial, Traditional, Vintage... in total cohesiveness as a way to give essence and personality.” Her love for interior design paired with experience allows her to appreciate the beauty of all styles and tailor a look specific to the customer's aesthetic and functional needs. Haley is known for her French Country Designs. So, whether you are designing your personal residence, beach or mountain home, English horse farm, or restoring a piece of history, she can help you create your vision.

With a background in Visual Merchandising, Haley believes good design is in the details. Having owned her own retail and antiques store, she understands the importance of visual aesthetics. She uses this when designing residences, commercial spaces and merchandising model homes. She combines her design, merchandising, and event planning background to create a lasting experience for each client. “A beautiful space doesn't need to have the most expensive elements to look great, it just needs the right elements in the right places.”

Haley’s philosophy is to not only create a beautiful space for her clients, but also a space that will be functional for their individual needs. Each room should feel comfortable yet sophisticated. she believes that every home has a story and her goal is to seek out the true character of the home through interior design. “This process should always be fun and at the pace of my clients. I want each client to come out of this experience with a beautiful and functional space! I believe that good design doesn't have to mean everything matches, but rather flows together cohesively. Designing a home shouldn't be a race, but rather a journey creating memories along the way!”

Haley has earned degrees in Hospitality management (Resort/Spa & Hotel/Restaurant), Esthetics Technology, and Interior Design, graduating Summa Cum laude. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design at Art Institute of Atlanta and New York Institute of Art & Design for Feng Shui Design and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Working with an
Interior Designer

An interior designer will guide and help you to bring your vision to life in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Interior designers understand spaces, trends, vendors, basic construction and engineering concepts, and how to turn an abstract vision into reality.

Designers hold your hand so you won't be alone in the process. Any sort of home renovation can be a daunting process. Having an expert to guide you can help make the process a little less overwhelming. Deadlines and scheduling can be overwhelming on any project. Because your designer is handling the implementation and providing you with deadlines for decisions, you can see a light at the end of the renovation tunnel.

One of the biggest ways an interior designer can save you time and money is by providing good construction and remodeling contractors. Village Design Group has a group of contractors and subcontractors that work with us every day. We know they are going to show up on time, and that they will be respectful of your home and possessions. They are used to working with our design staff and understand the need to follow detailed plans and instructions.

Our designers have also worked with some of the best builders in Moore County and we are happy to assist in the building of your home. A service we call "Construction Oversight" is available to clients seeking selection assistance during the construction process. Our job is to assist in maintaining the schedule, provided by the builder, to have selections determined and available in time for the next phase of installation. The oversight service is comprehensive by assisting with the selection of exterior elements and colors as well as interior paint schedules, lighting placement, electrical and plumbing walk-throughs, tile design, flooring suggestions -- every detail required to build your dream home.
"Village Design Group was responsible for renovating a vacation home in Pinehurst. The project took six months from beginning to end which was exactly the amount of time I was told it would take. I was only able to visit the site three times during the six months. They coordinated all the contractors and made sure all the work was started and completed in a timely and professional manner. There were no surprises. We are very pleased clients." By: M Minkler
"When we built our home in 2007, Village Design Group helped us in many different capacities: from coordinating paint color with granite, hardware, and flooring choices to brick, mortar and even shingle selection! Throughout our building process, their knowledge and expertise saved us hours of our time and tens of thousands of dollars, as they understood the most time efficient and cost effective ways to accomplish our goals. After our home was built, we relied on Village Design Group to help with our decorating and furnishing needs." By : M Taylor
I have worked with Village Design on several projects over the past 7 years. The first was a turn key renovation project that turned out perfectly. The designer provided incredible service and created an updated, comfortable space for my rental property. The second project was the construction oversight and building consultation for my 6,000+ square foot home. Again, the value added services brought to our custom home were "worth every penny" as my husband will say. We would highly recommend their services for large or small projects from paint consultations, to draperies, to furniture to total build out. K. Bertalozzi.
Extremely accommodating. Very professional. Pleasant, flexible and knowledgeable. Provided direction and just enough choices. Kept us from making mistakes but definitely allowed the project to be our personalities. Have used them for a remodel as well as new construction. Very competitive pricing." R. Dye
We have worked with Vicki Stone for two projects. For the first we hired her to completely renovate our vacation condo. She managed the entire project and we couldn't have been happier! We were so pleased with what she did with the condo, we asked her to redecorate our home in Virginia. She came to our home, took pictures, measured, and gave us several options in a full proposal. She was time-efficient and budget-conscious while giving us everything we hoped for. She is professional, personable, and quite knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Vicki and Village Design Group for any project, large or small!" By : C Funderburke
Vicki Stone, designer and owner of Village Design Group, helped me update a 12 year old house thoroughly, beautifully, and economically. Over several months, we: repainted every room in the house, changed all door hardware and plumbing fixtures, painted cabinets, and replaced granite countertops. We replaced light fixtures and installed a wall mounted fireplace surrounded by custom built-in bookshelves. Vic is wonderful to work with. She is a true expert in color selection. All the staff is skilled, reliable, and friendly, and she has a roster of great tradespeople." By : L Lardner
Village Design Group is awesome! They are extremely dedicated to getting the work done right. I appreciate the professionalism of the design team and their skilled craftsmen who did the installations. I would recommend Village Design Group to anyone." By : D Ciokan
